Location: Brad Barber’s Farm 17127 Minnick Rd.

Cover Crops are an essential part of sustainable agriculture.
Benefits of using cover crops include:
•  Increase in pest and weed control, infiltration, crop yields and drought resistance.
•  Decrease in erosion, compaction, and need of fertilizer (save money!)
•  Healthier soil
Join us for an informative field day focused on utilizing winter cover crops in Clermont, Brown, Highland, and Clinton Counties. The workshop includes a brief presentation on soil quality by George Derringer, Soil Scientist, followed by David Brandt who shares his knowledge and enthusiasm for utilizing cover crops. Participants will have experts available to answer questions regarding cover crops, including seed vendors and local cover crop farmers. Venture into soil pits to see the soil quality of ground with cover crops. To conclude the event, local farmers will hold an open discussion on the benefits and challenges of using cover crops in their operations.

Please call Susie Steffensen at Clermont SWCD with any questions; (513) 732-7075.
