Southwest Ohio & Northern  Kentucky
Stormwater Field Day

Plan on joining us on September 22nd to learn how developers and contractors are meeting sediment erosion control and storm water BMP requirements that protect local waterways. This day-long workshop will begin with demonstrations of BMPs led by experts eager to answer questions and share their knowledge. Attendees will then board the Belle of Cincinnati River Boat for lunch and speaker sessions about industry regulations and trends.

Four hours of PDH's are available.

​Brent Coppage LEED AP, CPESC
Coppage Construction Co., Inc.
​

Brent is a fourth-generation employee of Coppage Construction. Coppage Construction was founded by Brent’s Great Grandfather in 1942. Brent has over 30 years’ experience in the industry. Brent’s current roles include project management, material purchasing, erosion & sediment control inspection, design, and maintenance. Brent currently lives in Walton, Kentucky with his wife and three sons. 

Brooke Shireman
Environmental Compliance Manager 
Sanitation District No. 1 of Northern Kentucky 

​Brooke Shireman is an Environmental Compliance Manager within the Water Resources Department at Sanitation District No. 1 of Northern Kentucky (SD1).  In this position she oversees the implementation of SD1’s MS4 permit.  Prior to her work at SD1, Brooke worked at the Kentucky Division of Water for almost 10 years as an environmental scientist for Kentucky’s Nonpoint Source Pollution program. She graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Biology.​

Lucas Hanks
Kentucky Division of Water

​ Lucas Hanks has been the MS4 Coordinator for the Kentucky Division of Water since September 2019. Lucas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Kentucky. Before joining the KDOW, Lucas worked in the agricultural industry.

Wesley Sluga
Stormwater Technical Assistance Team
Ohio EPA, Division of Surface Water

Wesley Sluga is a member of the Stormwater Technical Assistance team with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Division of Surface Water. He graduated from Cornell University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and a minor in Climate Change Science. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree from The Ohio State University. Wesley is a registered Engineer-in-Training and is in pursuit of his Professional Engineering license. He has been with the Ohio EPA’s Stormwater Program since 2019, where he works to assist internally and externally through training, development of guidance material, plan reviews, and answering the many stormwater questions that come his way.
