The seventh annual Rain Barrel Art Project Auction is now on display at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. The Rain Barrel Art Project’s Benefit Auction also was launched online at http://www.savelocalwaters.org/auction.
SaveLocalWaters.org in January selected about 40 artistic designs submitted by local artists and classrooms to be painted on as many rain barrels. The artists spent the next few months perfecting their designs and painting the rain barrels, which will remain on display at Zoo through April 25 until end of the auction. An online auction is underway at: http://www.savelocalwaters.org/auction. The Rain Barrel Art Project is partnership between SaveLocalWaters.org and the zoo, this initiative raises funds for conservation education in the Ohio River Valley and raises awareness about the benefits of rain barrels. Participants range from long-time professionals to classrooms of budding student artists and are based in cities and towns across the Ohio River Valley
Those interested in bidding on the rain barrels can visit the auction website: http://www.savelocalwaters.org/auction. The auction’s culmination coincides with the zoo’s Party for the Planet and Tunes & Blooms on April 25. Admission to the zoo during this event is free after 5 p.m. and parking is $10. Residents are encouraged to bid online and visit the rain barrels at the Zoo.
