![]() The Clermont and Brown Soil & Water Conservation Districts and the Natural resources Conservation District are working with area partners to host a Cover Crop Field Day on Friday, March 22, 2013, from 8:00am – 1:30pm at a local farm in Mt. Orab (Brown County). Participants will learn how cover crops can improve crop yields, reduce soil compaction and improve soil health. Soil scientists will be on hand to demonstrate how cover crops benefit soil quality. Participants can view soil pits in a cover crop field and have the option to bring soil samples to the field day for testing. A panel of local farmers will answer questions and share their experiences planting winter cover crops. Participants will be provided with doughnuts and coffee in the morning, lunch from LaRosa’s, and a SARE Book entitled “Managing Cover Crops Profitably.” For more information, please contact Susie Steffensen, Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District at: 513-732-7075 or ssteffensen@clermontcountyohio.gov.
